THE UNDERWORLD UNIVERSE EXPANDS — DAVID’S SPIN-OFF & SELENE’S RETURN CONFIRMED
The war isn’t over. The darkness deepens. Lakeshore Entertainment has officially announced the revival of the iconic Underworld franchise with a major spin-off centered around David, the vampire warrior played by Theo James. First introduced in Underworld: Awakening, David will now take center stage in a solo film exploring his transformation from a loyal son to a reluctant leader caught in the collapse of vampire hierarchy.
As the ancient feud between vampires and Lycans grows bloodier and more unpredictable, David must navigate betrayal, shifting alliances, and the emergence of new hybrid threats that challenge the very laws of death and immortality. Meanwhile, fans can rejoice as Kate Beckinsale returns to reprise her legendary role as Selene — the immortal Death Dealer — in a separate but interconnected film. Haunted by the ghosts of her past, Selene embarks on a harrowing journey into the vampire underworld to confront secrets older than any clan, threatening the very balance of power she once bled to protect.
Director Len Wiseman confirms that these new films are part of a larger shared narrative universe, where storylines converge, legends collide, and forgotten characters like Eve, Lucian, or Markus may resurface in unexpected ways. The upcoming entries promise a deeper mythology, more brutal action, and a shift in tone toward psychological horror, gothic thriller, and philosophical questions about eternal life, loyalty, and redemption.
With darker visuals, complex character arcs, and next-gen stunt choreography, Underworld isn’t just returning — it’s being reborn. Production begins in 2026, with multiple projects in the pipeline. David is rising. Selene is not done. And the Underworld has only just begun to bleed again.
